What is the Sixes Prize League? Sixes Prize League (SPL) is a recreational lacrosse league where members play the Olympic format called “Sixes.” Each season, the league awards prize money to the champions in each city where a Sixes Prize League is played.
Do the SPL games actually air on television? Yes, each SPL game in each city is broadcast live on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and SixesPrizeLeague.com with a play-by-play broadcaster. The league also has a cable television deal with 22 The Point, Home of The CW in Pittsburgh, giving the league substantial time to air recorded Sixes Prize League games to a regional cable audience on Saturday nights during the seasons in Pittsburgh’s DMA.
If I currently play NCAA lacrosse (D1, D2, D3), can I play in the SPL? Yes, especially if your team does not win the prize money. The SPL is like any adult or rec sports league where you pay to play for your reps in the offseason. We amplified the experience with the TV and prize money to make it more fun. Where is this? The Sixes Prize League currently has leagues available in Pittsburgh (1 Racquet Ln, Monroeville, PA 15146 - All American Field House) and Maryland (7330 Montevideo Rd, Jessup, MD 20794 - Soccer Dome).
How does the prize money work? Prize money for the champions is based on the number of teams playing and the league’s cost to operate that particular season. The minimum for prize money is $1,500. Prize Money History: Season 1 $3,000; Season 2 $1,500; Season 3 $2,500

Why is it called “Sixes”? Each team plays with six people on the court: five field players, who are called “runners,” and a goalie.
What are the dimensions of an Olympic Sixes field? 76 yards x 39 yards (70 meters x 36 meters). The SPL is on 69 yards x 37 yards at All American Field House for SPL Pittsburgh and 60 yards x 30 yards at the Soccer Dome for SPL Maryland.
How many players can I have on my team? Up to 13 players (that includes your goalie).
How does the league handle free agents? The league reserves the right to place up to two free agents on each team. If there are enough free agents to form a team, the league will create a free-agent team.

Can I play? Yes! Register with a team or as a free agent for the SPL nearest you when the season begins!
How old do I have to be to play in the SPL? If you are under 18, you must ask your parents for permission. Eager high school dogs have played in this league and gone on to play collegiate lacrosse successfully. We suggest 16 and up if you have the skill and the stomach for the Sixes Prize League. U14 and U12 players can play in the developmental SPL Lab (coming soon).
