Back-To-Back Barrels Back in The Prize League
In two seasons, the Barrels Lacrosse Club has racked up two titles and $4,500 in prize money, dominating the Sixes Prize League in its opening year.
Their success, in large part, is due to all of them playing together most weekends out of the year. Whether it’s box, field or Sixes lacrosse, the Barrels “play anyone, anytime, anywhere,” Barrel player Tim Schreiber said.
Teams who develop their skill along with their interpersonal chemistry are a welcome site in The Prize League. The Barrels travel to tournaments, support each other’s businesses and drink together. That bond is tough to stop on the field once the Barrels roll.

The Sixes Prize League is unique for the team because it’s an opportunity for the Barrels to compete against each other, as they always enter the league with two teams and two chances for the club to win the prize money. A proven formula, the Barrels enter Season 3 as “Barrels Prep” and “Barrels Public,” teams divided by their academic backgrounds for those who went to public school and those who went to private school.
On October 29, the Barrels held the third consecutive Barrels Lacrosse Club SPL Draft. Captain of Barrels Public and a 50-point scorer during SPL Season 2, Zach Romac picked Logan Maloni, Tony Peluso, and Alex Strain with his first three picks. The trio of post-collegiate heavyweights and the sharp-shooting captain will undoubtedly lead Barrels Public to wins this season.
Logan Maloni went to Seton Hill, where he won the Great Midwest Athletic Conference twice, reached a Final Four, and led the team in points scored three years in a row. He was a Scholar All-American in 2020 and selected as an Honorable Mention of the All-American team in 2021. He scored 221 collegiate points, and he was the original Triple Crown winner in the Sixes Prize League, the regular season leader in points, goals, and assists.
Tony Peluso is an All-American. He was selected as a third-teamer in 2015 because he won 66.9% of his faceoffs that year for Seton Hill. He was first-team all-conference the same season. Peluso is among the few people walking around Earth with 500 collegiate faceoff wins. He is also a Sixes Prize League Champion.

Alex Strain, the SPL rookie for Barrels Public, is arguably the greatest lacrosse player to ever play at Washington & Jefferson College. Strain holds the record for most points scored in a season (74), is tied for the program lead in goals (141), scored the second most career points ever at W&J (189), and is also on the top 10 list for all-time assists (48). Strain added first-team All-President’s Athletic Conference honors to his accolades in 2021 and 2022.
